Closing Day is always an exciting milestone for sellers, buyers and realtors...  But this sale was a little extra special for me!

Though I've had the pleasure of selling houses to/for several close friends, this is my first sale that was for "family"!  Many of you may know that my boyfriend, Dan, and I have been dating for over twelve years.  While we aren't actually married (or even engaged....), we have long considered each others' families as our own.  So, when I had the opportunity to list my "in-laws" home, of course I jumped at the chance! 

It was definitely a unique experience to sell a home that I'd spent so much time in!  I knew how special this home was to it's current owners, and I was hopeful that prospective buyers would feel the same way.

Sure enough... within less than two days of listing their home, we received multiple offers!  After choosing the offer with the highest price and the most appealing terms, it was time for these clients to get packing!  

As Summer quickly turned to Fall, we tackled contingencies and negotiated repairs.  The whole family helped with packing, moving and moral supprot.  Before we knew it, closing day was right around the corner!

Less than two months later, we finally crossed the finish line and closed this sale on October 29.  Selling for more than $24,000 over asking price, I think it's safe to say I've secured my spot at Thanksgiving dinner!  

Fun Fact:  Not only were the sellers my "in-laws", but the buyer was her Realtor's mother-in-law as well!  It was a true 'Family Affair'! :)
